Chi Chi:
Born and raised in VT, Chinòn Maria attended the Pont-Aven School of Contemporary Art in France, undergraduate programs through the Rhode Island School of Design, and graduated with a BFA from Montana State University. She began her artistic career on the walls of her home painting a mural that spanned her entire childhood. At 24, she retired from a professional career as an alpine skier and continued her passion as an artist.

Her art is steeped in history and ancient world cultures, allowing a feminist narrative to weave into the stories she paints. The abundant use of color and floral patterns is an ode to her Colombian heritage and feminist narrative. A nostalgic fascination with previous eras, such as the golden age of animation, with its bold and playful character, can be seen throughout Chinòn’s art.

Her lifelong advocacy work for child education, gender equality, and immigrant rights are essential pillars within her work. For the past three years, she has been the resident artist at the World Trade Center creating over 5 large-scale public murals; each celebrating feminism, unity, hope, and healing. Her vibrant works teeming with positivity have garnered reviews in leading national publications news, TV programs, and partnerships with globally recognized non-profits and organizations. Her art has been shown in galleries and walls throughout North/South America and Europe. She splits her times living in VT and NYC and travels the globe uniting communities through public art, workshops, and lectures
