Silvia Mihai:
Was born in Romania and lives and works in New York. She was originally trained in traditional oil painting at the High School for Arts in her hometown and later earned a Bachelor in Decorative Arts and Art Education. During her college years, she was hired as a decorative painter, first in a doll factory and later in a ceramics workshop. She went on to teach art to elementary students after she moved to New York and continued to develop her style as a painter. Currently, Acrylic paint is her preferred medium and her work is influenced by her traditional training as well as by the vibrant, spontaneous, and often more ephemeral art on the streets of New York. Her artwork has been shown in group and solo exhibitions in NYC.
